When we started building a board software portal for the United Way of Central Indiana four years ago, we could barely imagine what it would be like to have 999 more customers using our product.Â
Now, we don’t have to imagine. In late summer of 2020, we added our 1,000th customer to the 6 continents, 25 countries, and 50 U.S. states where people are already using Boardable every day.
In Good Company
United Way of Central Indiana was Boardable’s first customer, but just the beginning of establishing relationships with national organizations. Among some of the household names that use Boardable for board management are Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (national board), Salvation Army of America (national board), and preferred partner status for United Way of North America,
Here’s a small sampling of local and international nonprofits that use Boardable:
Australian Psychology Association
Council of California Goodwill Industries
Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland
Maricopa County Workforce Development Board
Delaware Episcopal Church
Here’s what Jeremi Snook, CEO at Friendship Force international had to say about using Boardable:
“I’d recommend Boardable because they get it. Honestly, Boardable gets exactly the pain points that executive directors are experiencing with their board, whether it’s governing or helping to manage the boards better. Boardable understands these pain points and they’ve addressed them in their software. They make it really so that there is no comparison. Boardable has been a true game changer for our organization.”
“Hockey Stick” Growth
Perhaps this kind of expansion is not surprising. 2020 has been an especially big year for Boardable. Each year has included doubling or tripling of almost every metric you can think of.
In January of 2020, we hit our $1M annual recurring revenue milestone and are projecting $3M by the end of 2020.Â
Our staff in September two years ago was just 5 full-time employees. Today, we have 22 full-time employees, with multiple new positions open.
Our revenue per employee went from $57,000 in 2019 to a projected $94,118 by the end of 2020.
“Hitting this 1,000-customer mark has helped us focus our efforts and provide innovative solutions to better accommodate our customers’ ever-growing list of needs. We have just started to scratch the surface of the vast nonprofit marketplace, and as a company, we expect to more than triple that number in the coming year.
With this growth and momentum, our goals are aimed at growing the team and continuing to drive innovation of the Boardable platform, with plans to continue expanding our customer base around the world. Our next milestone is 10,000 customers. We know that if we can continue to surprise and delight our 28,000 individual users so that they tell all their nonprofit colleagues about Boardable, we will get there quickly!
