Boardable is a fast-growing software company with an office in the Broad Ripple neighborhood of Indianapolis. Our mission is to dramatically improve the experience of serving on a board of directors, and to help organizations better engage with their boards and committees. We are currently looking for someone to join our team to support our accounting and sales/marketing functions. Join us!

Job Purpose:

The Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant is responsible for maintaining Boardable’s accounting records according to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). In addition, responsibilities include data entry to support sales and marketing, as well as basic data analysis and spreadsheet creation and maintenance. The person in this role reports to the VP of Operations and works regularly with the Chief Financial Officer. The position will start at approximately 20 hours per week, with potential for an increase in hours as workload and availability allow.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Enter data for accounting transactions, create journal entries as needed, and reconcile accounts
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections from customers
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and other reports
  • Process payroll through our payroll service
  • Make regular bank deposits
  • Learn and implement new accounting tools and systems as appropriate
  • Work with the CFO to compile and submit data to local/state agencies for tax incentives and reimbursement programs
  • Work with sales and marketing teams to enter/maintain data records in CRM software
  • Prepare and analyze spreadsheets to assist sales and marketing teams with various metrics calculations and tracking
  • Maintain company document files (mostly electronic)
  • Assist with basic office management (e.g., purchasing supplies/swag, coordinating team outings, handling maintenance requests and arranging vendors, etc.)

Experience/Education/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field (Associate’s degree plus relevant experience will also be considered)
  • 3+ years of experience in basic bookkeeping and data handling (preferably in a technology company or B2B SaaS environment)
  • General accounting knowledge and familiarity with GAAP
  • Excellent spreadsheet skills (both MS Excel and Google Sheets)
  • Demonstrated ability with QuickBooks Online
  • Familiarity with HubSpot a plus, or a willingness to learn basics of CRM/marketing automation platform
  • Superior organizational and project management skills; high attention to detail
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, tech startup environment
  • Ability to work independently and juggle competing priorities
  • Nonprofit and/or board experience a plus
