About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Content Marketing Manager to help us build a robust inbound marketing function and craft compelling narratives to inform, educate, and inspire nonprofit and business leaders. 


  • Work with the business leaders and stakeholders to develop content marketing strategies
  • In partnership with the Digital Advertising Manager, build and iterate the content strategy with compelling content that generates leads and accelerates sales funnel velocity
  • Continuously identify, measure, and optimize content performance KPIs, working with the Marketing Ops Manager to build successful content programs and map out new ways to reach both core and new audiences
  • Manage an editorial and content production calendar. Assign and keep track of all tasks, workflows, and deadlines, including inputs from executive leadership, internal stakeholders, and third-party partners
  • Create, write, edit, manage, and scale the production of the content consistent with Boardable’s tone and mission
  • Work with internal stakeholders including marketing, product marketing, sales, customer success, and others to proactively identify business priorities that can be fulfilled with content
  • Source and interview subject-matter experts, including external influencers, customers, and internal talent
  • Serve as the internal ‘go-to’ resource for any content requests
  • Develop content for advertising partners, specific target audience segments, and new verticals to drive education and adoption of our products
  • Monitor competitor blogs and stay up to date on search trends to identify opportunities for organic traffic growth and page ranking
  • Ensure all content is consistent with the brand voice and style and optimized for search and user experience
  • Work with 3rd-party agency in delivering SEO initiatives that drive user engagement and help them move further down the funnel and maximize organic search traffic
  • Work with outside media relations agency to craft and direct PR initiatives. 
  • Manage Boardable’s social media profiles and presence, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Quora, and Instagram, creating, organizing, and scheduling shareable content appropriate for specific networks to both spread our brand and our content and links.
  • Listen and engage in relevant social media discussions about our company, competitors, and/or industry, both with existing customers and leads and from brand new audiences that don’t yet know us.
  • Build, maintain, and update brand editorial guidelines as needed
  • Select and manage outside guest writers (influencers) and freelance writers, providing feedback on their work and copyediting their work prior to publishing
  • Choose and edit compelling images for use in blog posts and edit images for content promotion across various platforms (e.g., social, email, and paid ad channels)
  • Oversee the creation of premium content resources per month to drive leads, subscribers, awareness, and/or other important metrics (e.g., e-books, white papers, infographics, case studies, guides, etc.)
  • Assist in the planning, setup, and promotion of webinar content, as well as its repurposing to various forms of additional digital content
  • Collaborate with Marketing Ops on the creation and distribution of email marketing campaigns, both nurturing campaigns and monthly e-newsletters
  • Work with Digital Marketing Director to ensure content is up to date on the main website and support site, as well as in onboarding and resource materials


  • 3-4 years of content marketing experience is required
  • BA/BS degree (or similar) required or relevant experience 
  • Experience in B2B SaaS marketing preferred
  • Possess sharp writing abilities for both long-form content (White Papers, Research, Playbooks) and short-form (Emails, Blog posts, Social)
  • Exceptional editorial skills and a deep understanding of how to craft and evolve narratives, guide contributors, and keep creative workstreams on track
  • A passion for ensuring high quality in all marketing materials
  • Excellent written communication, content, and copy skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and WordPress or other content management software
  • Ability to effectively implement new programs and processes within the organization, gaining internal alignment throughout the process  
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, excel at handling multiple concurrent projects and have a relentless obsession for excellence
  • Self-motivated, organized, disciplined and able to work on your own and as part of a team
  • A creative planner and doer with the ability to lead and influence peers
  • Detail-oriented with strong attention to follow-through
