Job Purpose

Boardable is seeking a passionate, visionary leader to help accelerate and innovate our mission to become the global go-to brand for nonprofit board software. The ideal person is a team promoter, mentor, people manager, and advocate of design culture. The UX Design Director will lead a unified design team to enhance the Boardable customer experience -- incorporating key aspects from our marketing, sales, growth, support, customer, and technical teams. This role would report directly to the Chief Product Officer.

This role will provide strong leadership and a strategic consultative role to the organization for end-to-end interactive customer experience for existing and future development across all of our product channels including web applications, mobile applications, calendar integrations, email interactions, and messaging apps. This role will be responsible for curating and maintaining a holistic HCI product roadmap for the organization.  The ideal candidate will have a strong creative design and interaction design background and experience as well as a proven record of leading similar projects in a SaaS environment.  

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Generating UX requirements and build UI mockups/prototypes to present to key stakeholders that tie back to improving the organization’s KPIs
  • Develop and evangelize UX vision throughout the organization
  • Gain extensive awareness of the product's strengths and limitations relative to market/consumer trends, competitive threats, market opportunities, and more importantly, consumer experience
  • Lead continuous transformation to improve efficiency and increase the speed of innovation in line with the company strategy
  • Continually evaluate practices, methods, and strategies to improve customer interactions
  • Collecting, tracking, and analyzing data and key metrics to continuously modify and improve the user experience
  • Working within a matrix of key individuals to help envision, create, collaborate and drive a unified product strategy
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to senior technical staff members
  • Enlist external contractors, freelancers, and agencies to assist with projects
  • Exemplify user-centric design culture, values, and principles
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups across the organization on corporate UX strategy
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions. Conceptualizing improvements and translating ideas to design and development teams

Experience/Education/Skills

  • Strong UI and UX background
  • 5+ years of experience in cross-functionally with marketing, product, content, and other design groups
  • Excellent communicator and problem solver
  • Knowledge and experience around Scrum/Agile design and development process
  • Strong experience in web & mobile deployment, production and as a hands-on designer
  • BA/BS degree in design, design & research, human-computer interaction, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • Applicants should present a professional design portfolio including solutions across multiple devices that showcase strong UI/UX examples
