About the Role

We are looking for a (remote) part-time contractor to create technical content to inform and educate customers, as well as build our knowledge base. 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of hardware and software products and their corresponding documentation requirements
  • Produce high-quality documentation, including manuals, job aids, knowledge base articles, training documents, and other collateral that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
  • Provides feedback to product teams to contribute to the continuous improvement of the user experience
  • Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
  • Revise documents as new issues arise
  • Maintain records and files of work and revisions
  • Edit, standardize, and make changes to material prepared by others
  • Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of distribution
  • Select appropriate deliverables based on the message and the intended audience
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
  • Gather customer feedback on documentation to improve the usability

Experience/Education/Skills

  • Experience working in a technical writing position
  • Proven ability to distill complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand content
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proofreading and editing skills
  • Excellent written communication, content, and copy skills
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, excel at handling multiple concurrent projects and have a relentless obsession for excellence
  • Self-motivated, organized, disciplined and able to work on your own and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong attention to follow-through
