Today, the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows runs 40+ sites throughout Northern Nevada, including the Donald W. Reynolds Facility on East Ninth Street and the William N. Pennington Facility on Foster Drive in Reno. Other sites across the state include sites in Ely, Fernley, Winnemucca, Panaca, and Tonopah.

History

The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows follows the same mission as the 1K+ chapters across the globe. This mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. With a 28-member board, they needed a solution to centralize their board documents and streamline their board meetings.

Challenge

The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows had many challenges with their board meetings. They struggled with a lack of a centralized location for materials and meeting schedules, which made it tough to search for agendas, old documents, and records stored in various locations. With remote meeting attendance on the rise, it was more important than ever to keep everything centralized, organized, and on task. They also wanted to reduce paper usage with board packets and materials.

Solution

Boardable’s platform provided the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows with a one-stop-shop for all things board related. The platform offered a central location for board documents, including agendas, old documents, and records. With Boardable’s platform, they were able to streamline their board meetings and eliminate their previous issues with a lack of a centralized location for materials and meeting schedules. “The platform was also very intuitive, and the Spotlight feature almost eliminated their need for other video platforms,” says Julie Rowe, VP of Strategy.

Once we got staff, our board, and the young leaders committee on board and acclimated it eliminated many of our previous issues with a lack of a centralized location for materials and meeting schedules.

Today’s Operations

Boardable produced a “how to” video specific to the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows’ Board, which was given to all board members. They did a soft launch and two months later made a complete switch. The platform was very intuitive, and the staff and board members quickly acclimated to it. Board engagement has increased, and Julie Rowe, VP of Strategy, rates Boardable 10/10 for its ease of use, quality of service, and features and capabilities.

Boardable has been a game changer for our organization in terms of streamlining our monthly Board and Committee Meetings. We now have a central location for all our agendas and supporting documents, and have reduced our paper usage significantly!
